Hot 100 South Australian Wines, The Adelaide Review  "Steely aromatics, with great freshness of green plum and kiwifruit. Palate texture feels like ice-skating, with a slim, tightly packed fruit profile that finishes with an electric crunch."

"The wine leaves me feeling like I've just had a walk on the beach.  It has that sea breeze about it: fizzy cool waves on granite; the gentlest waft of seaweed."

93 Points - Nick Stock, Good Wine Guide 2012
" ... crisp, elegant white that offers up delicate aromas of apple blossom, fresh-cut pear, some gentle parsnip and a hint of white pepper. The palate's crisp and elegant, with white stone-fruit and apple flavour; acidity has attractive crunch and the balance is spot-on."

"Very attractive to smell - nashi pear, daikon radish, mineral and a gentle element of allspice and white pepper ... This has practically everything I want from a white wine, and a few surprises too ... Mouthwateringly good wine. Excellent - Outstanding." - Jesse Lewis, Good Drop

92 Points - Chris Plummer, Australian Wine Journal
"... palate delivers a clean accent of white-fleshed fruits and lemons which develop more chalk and pear skin-like flavour down the line ... If the Adelaide Hills savalanche is wearing you a bit thin, then brace yourself for the welcomed sight of an oncoming gru-nami."

92 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
"Light white pepper and celery, echoes of apples and pear, citrus too ... No artifice. Has an appealing Japanese ginger (the stuff you get with sushi) and grapefruit aftertaste. Excellent drinking and a great result for the vintage."

"Yes - this is the uber-fashionable, trendy wine varietal that sommeliers fall over themselves to recommend, but once you taste the fresh, steely beauty of this crisp Austrian style, it's clear what all the fuss is about." - David Sly, SA Life

Gruner Veltliner is native to Austria where it has developed international acclaim for producing wines with an extraordinary versatility in style. This variety also has the reputation for being the world's most food-friendly wine. The 2011 vintage is a crystalline beauty with vibrant aromatics of gentle nashi pear, citrus and spice. The palate is all about purity, minerality and texture and has excellent mouth-feel. There are hints of tobacco and caramelised parsnip, with an exotic spritz of peppery spice in the tail. This wine is perfectly paired with hard-to-match foods such as root vegetables, salad leaves and fresh tomato and is excellent with spicy Asian cuisine and sea-food.

This Hahndorf Hill classic takes its lead from the so-called 'Super White Wines' from the wine region Friuli, in north-eastern Italy. Rosé 2011

Bronze Medal, Adelaide Hills Wine Show 2011

Totally different, totally unique! This sophisticated, dry Rosé is made from a blend of Blaufränkisch and Trollinger grapes. Hahndorf Hill Winery is the only producer of these varieties in Australia.

The hand-picked grapes were crushed and given minimal skin contact in order to produce the sensational salmon-pink colour, then the juice was fermented dry like a white wine.
Mouth-watering boiled sweet aromas of quince and wild strawberries on the nose whilst juicy flavours flow onto the palate together with an appealing freshness and structure. This wine is the ultra-perfect match for your favourite seafood and all spicy Indian and Thai cuisine.  Serve beautifully chilled.

Christine Salins, foodwinetravel.com.au
"'Unique' is a word that can be bandied about too easily but the duo behind this very slick red can rightly claim this one is ... Medium-bodied, supple and elegant with lovely blueberry and cherry notes, it slips down a treat."

Blaufrankisch is a red grape variety that produces wines of superb quality in its homeland of Austria, where it ranks as the pre-eminent grape in the red wine province of Burgenland. UK wine guru Jancis Robinson has referred to this blueblooded varietal as the 'Pinot Noir of Eastern Europe'. Hahndorf Hill Winery is currently the only producer of Blaufrankisch in Australia. This 2010 vintage has produced a wine of great suppleness and elegance, with a gentle tumble of spice, dark cherries, blueberries, violets and fennel. It has excellent structure on the palate. The wine is perfectly matched with duck, quail, lamb and venison - and if you ever need to enjoy a red with your favourite seafood, this is it!
