Our wine range

Since Hahndorf Hill Winery is boutique-sized and specialised, the wines are available exclusively from the cellar-door and via mail order, and through a small, select number of independent retail outlets. The wines are also exported to various countries. You can order wine from Hahndorf Hill Winery by
downloading a mail order form.

While our wines display all the finesse and complexity for which Adelaide Hills wines are renowned, they also exhibit a striking individuality reflective of our special terroir and viticultural practices. Our vines are deeply rooted in a mix of ironstone, loam and red clay, and they benefit from our meticulous canopy management and yield control regimen.

Rosé 2007

HHW: Rosé 2007 label

Commended Award - Wine Style Asia Awards 2007

Totally different, totally unique! This sophisticated, dry rosé is made from Trollinger and Lemberger grapes which are hugely popular in southern Germany and Austria. Hahndorf Hill Winery is the only grower and producer of these varieties in Australia.

The grapes were crushed and left on the skins for 12 hours to produce the rich salmon colour, then the juice was fermented dry like a white wine.

With its aromatic nose and palate of freshly-crushed raspberries, quinces and cider-apples, this is the perfect wine for all seafood - sushi, oysters or pan-seared tuna fillets. Also especially magical with chilli-based cuisine. Try it with dark chocolate too. Serve beautifully chilled!

Gold Medal, Royal Melbourne Wine Show 2007

Silver Medal - Small Vignerons Awards 2007

Bronze Medal - London International Wine Challenge 2007

This absolute cool-climate Shiraz represents a seductive mix of Old and New World styles with intense blackcurrant, plum and raspberry flavours surrounded by warm cigar-box overtones. Ultra-smooth on the palate, this fine wine has a powerful structure that will carry it for at least another 10 years.

The wine was gently aged in a predominance of French oak barriques for 16 months, and then was bottle-aged for a further 14 months in our cool, underground cellars prior to release.

You can confidently serve this medium-bodied wine with skillet-grilled tuna fillet with baby tomatoes and mixed grilled vegetables. Or go more traditional and pair it with coal-grilled butterflied leg of lamb with a spicy, honey glaze.
