Tasting notes: This is the third vintage of our bottle-aged Reserve Gruner Veltliner (also known as the smaragd style in the Wachau wine region of Austria). The HHW version is made from riper grapes and is 100% wild-fermented in old French barriques. Lush and rich on the nose and palate with a vibrant citrus backbone, caramelised orange, caramel and butterscotch flavours. Serve with grilled white meats, your favourite sea-food and spicy Asian cuisine. This wine can be aged till 2027.

Always made in the fresh Italian style, this wine has an enticing nose of ripe Bosc pear and crushed green apple skin. The palate manages to be both unctuous yet lively, with a core of delicious soft fruit surrounded by a bracing freshness and a long textural and mineral tail. Tasting notes: This is the maiden vintage of our first ever dessert wine - the Green Angel Gruner Veltliner Late Harvest. The wine gets its name from the Austrian word 'Gruner' which means 'green'. The grapes for this wine are allowed a very extended period of ripening, during which the berries shrivel and thereby concentrate the flavour, the sugar and the natural acidity. Since the climatic conditions required to achieve this are quite specific, this wine will only be made in exceptional years. The juice is fermented till the desired alcohol level is achieved, leaving a residual amount of sugar in the wine. This residual sweetness is kept in balance by a high natural acidity. The rich yet delicate nose is layered with spice, lemon zest, poached pear and meringue. The palate is unctuous yet lively with fresh citrus, poached fruits, white pepper and a lively long tail. Perfectly matched to your favourite dessert, all chocolate and a runny, ripe brie cheese! This wine will age and develop well for 30 - 40 years.
