'This is very serious with sliced apples, some lemons and slate and stony notes. Seaweed and sea salt, too. Full body. Zingy and intense. Super complexity and intensity.'
96 Points - Huon Hooke, The Real Review
'Glorious length and fullness, an end-palate that finishes right out and lasts a very long time in the mouth. A sensational grüner.'
Tasting notes: This is the fourth vintage of our Reserve Gruner Veltliner which takes its inspiration from the Reserve style Gruners in the Kamptal wine region of Austria. Made from selected, riper grapes, this wine is 100% wild-fermented in old French barrels and is then aged on the lees, in the barrels, for 11 months prior to bottling. After bottling the wine is then aged a further 18 months in our cool underground cellar. As with other noble varieties such as Chardonnay, this Reserve Gruner Veltliner has the ability to mature and develop for many years. Intense and complex on the nose with caramelized orange peel, citrus, glazed pineapple and crushed tarragon. The palate is full with great presence, yet equally manages to retain a lively, zingy line of citrus and appealing mineral/ slate notes. Serve with grilled white meats, your favourite sea-food and spicy Asian cuisine.

Tasting notes: This is the second vintage of our dessert wine - the Green Angel Gruner Veltliner Late Harvest. The wine gets its name from the Austrian word 'Gruner' which means 'green'. The grapes for this wine are allowed a very extended period of ripening, during which the berries shrivel and thereby concentrate the flavour, the sugar and the natural acidity. Since the climatic conditions required to achieve this are quite specific, this wine will only be made in exceptional years. The juice is fermented till the desired alcohol level is achieved, leaving a residual amount of sugar in the wine. This residual sweetness is kept in balance by a high natural acidity. The rich yet delicate nose is layered with spice, lemon zest, poached pear and meringue. The palate is unctuous yet lively with fresh citrus, delicate poached fruits, white pepper and a lively long tail. Perfectly matched to your favourite dessert, all chocolate and a runny, ripe brie cheese! This wine will age and develop well for 30 - 40 years.
pH: 3.05 - TA: 8.2g/L - Residual sugar: 131.00g/L - Alcohol: 10.5%
Serve 8-10° C.
